Holiday Inn Otsega MN

Here is our family hotel review.

Otsega is just to the north of Minneapolis and is a beautiful little town. Though getting around is touchy as the highway cuts right through town.

Room: we are in a deadly room with lots of space for the 5 or us. King bed in a  separate room, bunk bed and table in another room and a living room connecting the two with a little 'kitchen'.

And it has tonnes of closets, and our youngest claimed one as his fart closet. And visited it more than a few times throughout the evening.

Pool: Super duper! It is a great water park that is no additional cost when you have the hotel room.

The little kid section at the top was a hit. And the round pool just off the lazy river was fun as it was a whirl pool, not a hot tub but a whirl pool.

Along with the little kid area and lazy river was a water slide, a tube slide and a tube slide with a toilet bowl (as the kids called it).

This is the actual swimming pool with basket ball nets. And the water slides in the back.

Breakfast: No free breakfast at this place. So we will be dining a la microwave waffle and cereal.

Overall: This is a fairly new hotel and is nice and clean. The carpets look like they went through a few hockey teams playing mini sticks. But overall we would recommend it for families. The biggest drawback is that there are not a lot of restaurants nearby.

Canad Inns Destination Center Grand Forks

Canad Inns

In front of our favourite hotel ever!

Description:  Super clean and nice hotel.

Price:  Super reasonable, even for a kids’ suite.

Food:  Has a coffee maker, microwave and fridge.  99 cent breakfast in the restaurant, but why bother when you can have cereal in the room!

Location:  Beautiful Grand Forks.  The hotel just off the main highway and easy to find.

Waterpark:  Family favourite!!!  Lots of different areas including several waterslides – a couple of toddler ones, a couple of little kid ones and one giant one for older kids.

Rooms:  Get the kids’ suite.  It has a separate room for the kids with 2 bunkbeds and their own TV, video game system and CD player.  The kids loved being able to play in their own room…even if they ended up in our bed later on that night.

The bucket at the top drops a junk load of water on top of anyone below.

Looks scarier than it really is!
